It is not easy to beat the summer’s heat. We have lots of liquids and salads to keep the heat at bay.
One such salad is ‘Moong dal cucumber salad’ which has the goodness of cucumber, moong dal, carrot and mint which have a cooling effect on the body.
Prep time: 15 min
- ½ cup moong dal (green gram dal), dehusked
- 1 cup cucumber, chopped
- 1 tbsp grated carrot
- 1 tsp chopped ginger
- 1 tsp pepper powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp chopped mint leaves
- ½ tsp lime juice
Soak dal for 1 hour. Take dal in a mixing bowl. To this add cucumber, carrot, ginger, pepper powder, salt and mint leaves. Mix well and add lime juice. Serve chilled.
