Fish recipes are most important in coastal cuisine. The main ingredient is coconut and fish is cooked in coconut oil, which tastes entirely different from other recipes. This curry is gently spiced and delicious.

- ½ kg Seer fish slices
- 1 medium sized coconut
- 12 dry red chillies
- Lemon sized ball of tamarind
- 2 tsp coconut oil
- Salt to taste
- 2 medium sized onions, minced
- 1 inch ginger, minced
- 2 green chillies, minced
- Chopped coriander leaves for garnish
Clean the fish. Grate coconut and grind to a very fine paste along with red chillies and tamarind.
Heat oil in a pan and fry onions, ginger and green chillies.
Place fish in the pan and pour the ground paste over it. Add salt to taste and a cup of water.
Boil till the fish is done with the lid on. Stir once in a while.
Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot with plain rice.
